I’m just back from taking a two-week vacation with my sons to Normandy, France where we visited a lot of the D-Day sites and museums. It was a fantastic experience for all and left us with memories that’ll last a very long time.
We started planning our trip back in February and kept adjusting it over the following months, to a point where we filled each day with exciting sites and time to travel around.
Unfortunately, as with a lot of plans, circumstances occur that inevitably change your hard work. A few things did happen to us on our trip, but then you just have to make alternate arrangements and manage the best that you can at that time.
It all reminded me of how variable plans actually are back at work. I can create project plans and system implementation plans (plans, plans, plans) that can change as frequently as a few times per week. It’s so important to realize that change happens and not let circumstances get the better of you, but rather use them to take a different and positive approach to your new situation.
Well, off to sort out over 2700 photos on my digital camera – the plan was just to take 1000! Who invented this 16GB memory card anyway?
