If you’ve ever had the opportunity to attend the FileMaker Developer Conference (this year from August 15 to 18 in San Diego), you’ll know that it’s more than scripts, schema, calculations and relational database modeling – quite simply, the conference is all about the music.
Database developers are a talented lot, and each year the conference holds an unofficial jam session that showcases the musical finesse of developers from around the globe. It’s not often that the themes of music and database development are intertwined, but at CoreSolutions, we can attest to their connection.
Take our own Kieren MacMillan for instance: Database developer, symphony composer, FileMaker Training Series instructor, and, most recently, Musical Director for ‘Fairy Tale Ending’ – a Broadway-style show that ran from July 2nd to the 10th at the Toronto Fringe festival. Kieren co-wrote the music and lyrics with Jeremy Hutton and the production is getting great reviews. Read a few of the reviews here, here and here.
And no worries if you didn’t catch the play during its initial run in Toronto; Fairy Tale Ending is still playing a few more shows on July 24, 29 and 31. Enjoy!
