Fast Fixes for a Bad Day

Estimated Time To Read This: 1 – 2 minutes

We’ve all been there — just one of those mornings where everything goes wrong. You lock yourself out of your home (raise your hand if you did this today!), run out of gas on the way to the office, spill your coffee down the front of your shirt. I could go on and on.

So how do you shake the funk that develops when all these little mishaps pile up on your shoulders?

First things first: You have to let it go. Holding on to the frustration of a tough morning can affect how the rest of your day goes. Plus, it’ll only impact your focus if you’re sitting at your desk, steaming and reliving the morning’s misfortunes.

Second: Laugh. Sometimes it’s all you can do.

Third: Relax. Take a tip from a past blog of mine and do a quick five-minute meditation at your desk. Taking deep breaths and concentrating on being in the present can help alleviate the stress that built up that morning.

Lastly: Know that tomorrow is another day. Yes, it’s kind of hokey, but it’s true. You get a whole other shot at this thing in less than 24 hours.
