I must admit February is my least favourite month. The shortest in actual days, but it seems the longest in actual time….By now we are pretty much sick of Winter. But the end seems so far away. We long for Spring Flowers, Warm Temperatures, Sunshine….We just want to put those boots away and hang up that winter coat.
I searched out some tips on how to help you get through the month:
- Mood Food….We tend to load up on Carbs…Maybe even polishing off a tub of ice cream in your PJ’s while watching a good movie. (O.k. so that is what I do). While this may bring some instant relief and good feelings, the after affects are not so good. Eat nutritious foods that will help boost your mood. Fresh fruits and veggies. Maybe even try a new tropical fruit. If you can’t be down south enjoying an Island vacation, bring a little bit of it to you!!
- Sweat it out…..bundle up and head outdoors for some winter activities. Cross country skiing, snow shoeing, a relaxing stroll through a park, and for those more adventurous, try some down-hill skiing or snowmobiling. You know what they say, if you can beat them join them, and since Winter is here for another while, let’s try and enjoy it.
- Relax and take some down time….Enjoy a good book that you have been meaning to read, or watch the movie that you got for Christmas last year.
- Plan….Take some time, and make a list of things you need to accomplish this spring and summer. Plan it out, and be ready when the weather changes and you can get outside and tackle your list.
- Try your hand at something new…Search out and try a new recipe. Maybe a new activity like Yoga or Pilates.
Spring is just around the corner. Really it is. Trying one or more of the above ideas may help you get through the rest of the Winter.
