Is your workspace positive?

Estimated Time To Read This: 2 – 3 minutes

Last month I read a great blog post about “Positivity in your Workspace” that you can read here.  It got me thinking about my own workspace and how I can create a “positive” atmosphere.  The blog suggests having pictures or reminders up about your “whys”.  Your “whys” are things that are most important in your life and the goals you want to achieve.  Also, you should have inspirational quotes and iPod playlists that are sure to get you pumped for the day.

Well I do have a photo of me and the most important person in my life (my husband) on my desk and a calendar with cute baby animals (it was free alright!) … but that’s about it.  My space could use some work.

So I now have a project for my workspace, to make it more positive and motivational. I need to identify more of my “whys” what are the goals and dreams I want to achieve in life and have them represented in my workspace.  And I need to find some great motivational quotes and phrases that will really mean something to me (no matter how cheesy they may seem to someone else).  And I need to create a great iPod playlist that will get me in a great mood and ready to do my best at the start of each day.

This is my own personal project for March.   I have included a photo of my workspace as is, and at the end of March I hope to show you the transformation.  And I will let you know if it really makes a difference in my motivation each day. I would like to invite all of you (including my co-workers) to do the same and let me know if the workspace transformation makes a positive impact on your motivation each day.

“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.”  ~Thomas Edison~

PS. Feel free to use that quote too!
