The leaves are falling
One by one
Summer’s over
And school’s begun
It was just about this time last year that I wrote a blog on “Back to school once again”. And here we are a year later. How time flies!!!!! Once again, I had my two kids (well teenagers) stand on the front step for pictures on the first day of school. As in past years they did so to please me (albeit reluctantly). It was a sad moment for me, as this will be the last year (I know they were happy to know this) as my son will be off to University next year. As I read last years blog, I reflected on my Professional Development goal last fall, and was ecstatic to have accomplished it. I obtained my CHRP designation last December. As the kids were gearing up for school, I asked myself “What’s my plan for this year”. The outcome of that thought is that I have registered in a Labour Relation course at Fanshawe college, and will take one more course in the Winter which will be the final step in obtaining my HR Diploma from Fanshawe.
As I said last year I’m a strong believer in and advocate for Professional Development, and what better time to start than September when all the students are heading back to school? It benefits both you, and the organization you work for…..It’s not too late to register for some fall classes, or even start the leg work, to be ready for January.
Professional development whether it be a full blown course, or a one day training session, gives you a sense of accomplishment. You are a better person for the knowledge you gained and the key learnings you are able to take away.
Remember it is never too late!!!!!
