The Next Generation FileMaker Classroom

Estimated Time To Read This: 3 – 4 minutes

The world is quickly becoming a “Get it here and now” society with so many of us needing to be “plugged in” and looking for the easiest way to get what we need when we need it!

We have learned to multi-task whether we wanted to or not, and in this vain we are almost forced to look at other ways we are able to obtain the training we require without the hassle of traveling or going off-site for hours or days at a time.

With every position I have held, I never liked the idea of being pulled away from the office for too long a period of time. My reasoning is that I know there will be a pile of work ready for my return. It is because of this that many individuals end up travelling with our laptops, even when taking vacation time, but this allows us to stay on track.

There are reasons for the differences between courses offered at a University versus a College; some learn well by taking part in a three hour lecture and do not require the practical hands on experience. While others need a more technical understanding of the “why” and “how” behind what is being taught.  By combining the two and keeping in mind that we need to stay connected, so many opportunities have been made available with the age of computers.

You have to love the World Wide Web and the doors it has opened up for learning; whether you are a hands-on technical learner or a person who just needs to listen to learn, there are all sorts of ways to meet those needs. With the introduction of Voip (voice over internet protocol) many conferencing software companies have made improvements to their software which allows them to offer a quality service.

Distance Education or distance learning began as early as 1728 when a teacher placed an ad in the Boston Gazette seeking students for lessons to be sent weekly. Correspondence training by post has been widely used for centuries and in the 1960’s, they began using television and radio technologies as another method of delivery. From there, we move into the age of the internet and online correspondence courses making it simpler still. With the implementation of video conferencing they combined all these methods to provide live Web Based training. This allows you to be involved in a training session from the comfort of your office or home, you are able to see the instructor with the help of a web cam and still be a full participating member of the class.

Here at CoreSolutions we have found that in these difficult financial times, many companies are reducing their budgets and employees may not be able to do the travel required to keep on top of their Professional Development.  That is why we are happy to let you know about the Next Generation FileMaker Classroom.  The same incredible FileMaker curriculum you have come to expect from CoreSolutions is now available right at your desk. This new method for delivering training means that an individual is able to receive the development necessary to progress within their jobs while their companies benefit from the reduction in expenditures. Amazing! To find out more about this new training opportunity, check out our new FileMaker Exposed! Online Course Series.

So I wonder what is next for us; holographic teachers like in Star Trek? Quite possibly but the benefits speak for themselves, people want to continue to learn while staying plugged in and they are now able to do just that!
