Inventory Scanning Database System
Challenge
A leading North American home décor and giftware wholesaler came to us to build them an inventory management solution that would be able to work on mobile devices and be easy for users to navigate. Because of the size of their location, the devices would have to store information locally and then sync to the database once in the range of their network.
Objective
The client wanted to have iPods scan their inventory via barcode UPC scanning and automatically timestamp the entries as well as update location, description, condition, and other information into a centralized database.
Result
We created an easy to use mobile application using FileMaker Go that could export to excel documents and then be imported to a SQL database. The greater ease of use of the mobile devices eliminated the pre-existing cumbersome inventory management processes.
